Schalke 04 vs. Borussia Monchengladbach

Schalke will host Borussia Monchengladbach for their Europa League 8th finals and their second of three clashes in just 12 days, hoping to now secure a home win (priced at 5/4 with BetVictor) and earn a sizeable advantage ahead of the return match at Borussia Park.

However, after their confident mid-February win at PAOK (0-3), Die Konigblauen haven't been anywhere near consistent following up with three draws (1-1 at Koln, 1-1 against PAOK, and 1-1 to Hoffenheim) and two losses in their last two outings (3-0 at Bayern Munich and 4-2 at Die Borussen). They have looked better in front of the home fans throughout the season, but we don’t feel they can bounce back just as quick and we’ll now rather stick our necks out for a Draw at 23/10 with William Hill.

Borussia Monchengladbach indeed travel in much better shape than their rivals having earned four wins in a row and they’ll surely be a big challenge, especially with confidence taken from their last week’s win Schalke. They’ve largely improved their form since the New Year and now look a very tough squad to beat both at home and on the road.

Nonetheless, they have had troubles at the back and haven’t been able to keep a clean sheet against stronger sides, which will be a worry for Dieter Hecking. We now fancy both sides to find the net and we’ll back a Yes on Both teams to score at 3/4 with bet365. Despite a poor series of results, Schalke have netted five goals in their last five outings and they’ll be highly motivated to make this match count if they want to make it into the quarter-finals.
