Raith Rovers vs. St. Mirren
St. Mirren travel to Raith Rovers for their Matchday 27 clash hoping they can bounce back after a thrashing loss at Celtic on Sunday and return to the winning ways. While they are currently rock-bottomed with six points behind 8th placed Raith, they do have a game in hand and this does seem like a perfect chance for a huge step to exit the red zone with a win (currently priced at 8/5 with Ladbrokes).
We’ve seen the Saints earn a draw and four consecutive wins in February, and there will surely still be confidence taken from it, but a thrashing 4-1 loss at Celtic has rocked the boat and it’s questionable if they can return to their best form as soon as Wednesday. With Raith Rovers in a poor spell of form and struggling for points for months already, we’ll go for a somewhat safer option and back a Double chance – St. Mirren to win or draw with a banker bet at 1/2 with the same bookie.
There isn’t much about the Rovers to suggest they can lock all three points at Stark’s Park on the day, as they’ve struggled and dropped on the table with nine losses and just two draws across competitions in 2017. The loss to Dunfermline in early January started a downward spiral of form and they soon became prime favourites for relegation, although they still sit just above the relegation zone.
They have been wildly unpredictable in front of the home fans (holding Hearts and Hibernian to draws but losing to Falkirk, Dumbarton, and Greenock Morton in the process), but they’ve scored four goals in the process and with the visitors improving the goalscoring tally recently, this does look like an exciting match in the making. We’ll thus go for a Yes on Both teams to score at 4/5 with BetVictor, which could as well be the best way to approach the game.
Raith Rovers vs. St. Mirren Stats
Not too reassuring, St. Mirren have last snatched all three points at Stark’s Park back in 2004, but they haven’t met too many times since and they’ve last earned a point here in November 2015 (1-1). Saints have secured the home points with a narrow win (1-0) in their last head-to-head encounter and with better form they could be up for the task here too.
Nonetheless, we’ll go for a 1-1 draw in the correct score market, which does now seem the best value coming at 11/2 with William Hill.

Manchester City vs Stoke City
Manchester City have the bit between their teeth again as they target glory on three fronts and can notch up another Premier League success at home to Stoke City.
This is the match that was scheduled to be played this coming weekend but has been brought forward because Manchester City are contesting an FA Cup quarter-final away to Middlesbrough, while it gives Stoke a 10-day break before their next game at home to Chelsea.
By shortly after 2pm on Saturday, Pep Guardiola will be hoping his side are up to second in the Premier League and into the FA Cup semi-finals, and then they can turn their attention to booking a place in the last eight of the Champions League when they visit Monaco on Wednesday leading 5-3 from the first leg.
It’s a busy time for the blues but they still have a very remote chance of emulating their neighbours Manchester United’s Treble feat of 1999. Before Chelsea’s match against West Ham on Monday it was a 300/1 chance with BetVictor for City to win all of the three top trophies.

In the league, second place looks much more achievable though and City will go two points above Tottenham, with the same number of games played, if they beat Stoke.
And you have to say that looks a very likely proposition because the blues have won seven of their last eight games, the exception being their FA Cup tie at Huddersfield which was drawn 0-0, and all bar one of them with at least one goal to spare.
We have said several times when previewing Stoke matches that Mark Hughes’ side generally do what you expect of them these days rather than springing surprises – they beat the opponents they are expected to beat and rarely take points off the top sides.
Hence the Potters are in their customary ninth place in the table, where they will remain regardless of this result, and defeat at the Etihad would be in keeping with their current pattern.
Manchester City vs Stoke City stats
Manchester City have scored four goals in each of their last three victories against Stoke
A clean sheet has been kept in all of the last eight league meetings of these clubs at the Etihad Stadium
Manchester City have scored 20 goals in their last seven home matches
